Missions · Reaching the World for Christ

Thomasville United Methodist Church is fully committed to seeing the Gospel spread throughout the world. If you would like more information about our missionaries, or are seeking support as a missionary, please contact us.

We Care Ministry

We Care Ministry is mainly a ministry to our shut-ins although it often reaches out to others. The We Care Ministry sends cards, makes phone calls, and takes Christmas fruit baskets to our shut-ins. It also serves shut-ins in the Thomasville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. This ministry is also responsible for the Sunday Card Ministry which sends cards of encouragement, get-well cards and cards of sympathy to TUMC church members, former church members and members of the community. If you would like to join this ministry or if you know of a need, please contact the church office.

Willing Ongoing Witness

WOW Ministry is designed to reach out to any visitor who is a prospective member of our church. A member of this group communicates with any visitor during the week of the visit. Members of this group also try to communicate with members who are absent from church for several consecutive weeks. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact the church office.

Our Hour Ministry

Our Hour Ministry has, over the past four years, presented numerous prayer shawls to those needing strength, comfort and peace. They have been given to those grieving the loss of a parent, spouse, or child. Many were given to someone dealing with cancer or other catastrophic illnesses. Those who have received the shawls have expressed gratitude for the gift of love which has been blessed and then dedicated at the Lord’s altar. While this ministry will continue to make and distribute prayer shawls we feel it can be so much more. We hope to expand the program to include devotionals, Bible and/or book study and other handcrafts such as embroidery, needlepoint, counted cross stitch, and quilting. We will continue to meet on the third Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. We invite anyone wishing to become a part of a group of women to develop new and expanded ways to learn new things, to read and study God’s word and strengthen relationships with Jesus. Please join us for our next meeting. Please come and share your special interests, talents, and skills with us.

We would love to have you come check out what we have to offer at TUMC.
